The Mindfulness Gym
Therapy for men who are done holding it all in.
Virtual therapy anywhere in Michigan and Indiana.
You’re trying to do everything right—show up at work, be there for your partner, handle the stress, stay cool. But underneath? Dumpster fire.
Go from buried emotions and stress overload …
… to feeling grounded, emotionally steady, and in control. Bonus! Stronger relationships and less “what just happened?” after every argument.
At The Mindfulness Gym, we’re learning how to train your brain to handle stress, anger, and anxiety with the same focus and strength you bring to every other part of your life.
We’ll build your emotional muscles so you can show up fully in your relationships, your work, and your life.
I bring 9+ years of experience helping men navigate anxiety, relationship issues, emotional shutdown, and past trauma.
“My sessions with Andrew have helped me become better at communicating my needs and emotions more directly and understanding how to work through my feelings. Working with Andrew has greatly improved my quality of life as well as some of my most important relationships."

Why wait?
If nothing changes, nothing changes.
→ The arguments won’t magically stop
→ The anxiety won’t wear itself out
→ The distance in your relationship will only grow
→ Your sleep, focus, and patience will keep slipping
→ And your partner? They’re probably already noticing (maybe they even forwarded you this page with a fire truck emoji …)
A few of the concepts we might explore …
-
→ You can’t avoid pain, uncertainty, and hard work—but you can learn how to face it.
-
→ Emotions aren’t weakness. They’re survival tools—built to protect, connect, and motivate us.
-
→ You can’t regulate what you don’t understand. Step one? Name the emotion.
-
→ Happiness isn’t a constant state—and that’s normal.
-
→ Anger is often a cover for embarrassment, sadness, or shame.
-
→ Thoughts aren’t facts. Just because your mind says it doesn’t mean it’s true.
-
→ Cold water can calm a racing mind. (Really. It’s science.)
-
→ Avoiding your feelings doesn’t make them go away—it just stores them for later.
-
→ Growth starts with discomfort.
-
→ Your partner can’t read your mind—but they can feel your silence.
-
→ Boundaries aren't walls. They’re fences with gates.
-
→ Trying to suppress anxiety usually makes it worse.
-
→ Most of us were never taught emotional skills. That doesn’t mean you can’t learn them now.
-
→ Empathy isn’t soft. It’s strength with understanding.
-
→ Suppressing emotions is exhausting—and it doesn’t solve the problem.
-
→ You’ve got 4 choices with any problem: Solve it, shift your perspective, accept it, or stay miserable.
Meet Your Therapist
I’m Andrew Moldenhauer, LCSW—therapist, founder of The Mindfulness Gym, and guy who believes mental health is just as important (and trainable) as physical health.
Most of my clients show up not knowing exactly what they need—just that they want something to feel different. My job is to help you figure that out, and give you the tools to make it happen.
We won’t just talk—we’ll train. This is a gym for your mind.
